On Saturday, October 17th 2015, nearly 50 volunteers representing community organizations and homeowners, planted 27 street trees in our neighborhood. We are grateful for the generosity and support of UGI, TreeVitalize, the Lancaster Rotary, LNP, Ross Street UMC, Save It!, City Arborist Jim Bower, Lancaster City Parks and Public Property workers, the Lancaster County Conservancy Urban Greening, Kristen Thomas and PA Master Naturalists. previous articles:

Ross Street UMC, Otterbein UMC and Neighbors United partnered together for a community yard sale on Saturday, June 20th. Proceeds from the event benefit Neighbors United Safer, Cleaner, Greener initiative.
Despite the early morning rain and an unfavorable forecast, our neighbors turned out and found some amazing deals. Table rentals raised nearly $250 that will directly benefit our efforts in the community. The Ross Street United Methodist Church and Otterbein United Methodist Church will join Neighbors United in hosting a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, June 20th from 7 am to 2 pm. Each neighborhood church is participating in this event to benefit the community with a bake sale and by renting spaces for the yard sale. Proceeds will benefit Neighbors United Safer, Greener, Cleaner initiative. Neighbors are encouraged to set aside June 20th as the BEST day to sell in our neighborhood. Besides anchor locations at both churches, neighbors in the community may also have their own yard sales on this date. We will advertise through social media and ask everyone to spread the word about our yard sale. 8' tables will be available to rent for $10.
Baked good donations are accepted. For more information, contact Sue. 79 adults, six children, 16 lbs of spaghetti, homemade sauce and delicious desserts. The Ross Street United Methodist Church and Monte Gerizim congregations partnered with Neighbors United and raised more than $750 towards the Safer, Greener, Cleaner initiative. As we seek to improve the quality of life in our community, we are grateful for partnerships like this. Thank you to all for a wonderful evening! photos courtesy of Kathlene C.
